April 28: Workers Memorial Day Events around Iowa.

Workers’ Memorial Day: April 28

Each year dozens of Iowa workers are killed at work and hundreds more suffer work-related injuries or diseases. Workers’ Memorial Day is recognized by the International Labour Organization as an international day of remembrance for those killed by workplace incidents or diseases, with events held on April 28 each year.  Central labor councils across the state next week will remember Iowa workers who died on the job last year and hold events dedicated to strengthening commitments to creating safer workplaces. See below for Workers’ Memorial Day events around Iowa.
