Good Jobs Now!

From a hog calling contest in Pittsburgh, to City Council testimony in Boston; from a picket and bank call out in Houston, to mass leafleting in San Diego, Des Moines and Sioux City, the United States labor movement is marching, rallying and protesting Wall Street, Big Banks and all those who stand in the way of an economy that works for all in the name of speculation that benefits the few.

The AFL-CIO Executive Council has called upon the entire labor movement—our affiliated unions, our state and local labor councils, the millions of members of Working America and our allies in communities and progressive movements across this country—to come together to create and protect good jobs.
Morgan Stanley has spent $3 million to kill financial reform. Overall in 2009, the Big Six spent more than $24 million to lobby Congress.

These corporations are willing to spend millions to block reform and keep the status quo. They’re counting on their lobbyists to keep Congress from doing anything.

We want to make sure Congress is listening to working families, creating jobs and making Wall Street pay!

And we’re not going to stop until we rebuild the middle class.
