Wishman, Laue and Hartford elected
Charlie Wishman elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Iowa Federation of Labor.
At the 56th annual Iowa Federation of Labor Convention, Charlie Wishman was elected to the position of Secretary/Treasurer.
Wishman (32) is the youngest person to be elected to this position. He was appointed to the position in January, when, Jan Laue, retired.
“I am looking forward to continuing to work with Charlie” said Ken Sagar, President of the Iowa Federation of Labor. “I was pleased that the delegates elected him.”
The convention was held at Prairie Meadows, in Altoona. August 1 – 3, 2012.
Wishman is a member of American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Local 716. And was previously a member of International Association of Machinists (IAM) Local 254 and American Federation, State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, class of 2002. He lives in Des Moines with his wife Kate and two children, Isaac and Ivy.
Also elected to fill vacancies on the Iowa Federation of Labor board were Jeff Harford, United Steel Workers Union (USW) to fill the 1st Congressional District and Jan Laue to fill the Iowa Alliance for Retired Americans position on the IFL board.
