Working America Dear David

Message from Working America

Friends,

I’m pleased to announce a new feature on the Working America website: Dear David. Launching today Dear David is a regular advice column for workers.

In the spirit of columns like “Dear Abby,” “Dear David” will offer assistance on a variety of topics—everything from how to deal with a difficult co-worker to work overload and dubious behavior in the office.

The column is written by David Wehde, Working America’s organizing director. Working with the AFL-CIO’s Organizing Department, David hopes to address the many challenges people face in the workplace. The column will offer an empathic ear, tips and tricks to deal with the issues, and links to other resources. The column will also remind workers they do not face these challenges alone, that collective action in a workplace can offer real solutions.

The site, which went live today, is located at WorkingAmerica.org/DearDavid. Anyone can submit questions, union member or not.

We hope you can help us promote this column by sharing it with your e-activist lists, and local allies. We have also created an embeddable widget so you can include Dear David on your own websites! The widget works exactly like a YouTube video. With a tiny bit of code, you can include the newest Dear David question and answer right on your home page.

Please check out WorkingAmerica.org/DearDavid and help us promote it. If you are interested in the embeddable widget, so you can include the column on your own site, please reach out to me directly.

In Solidarity,
Christian Norton
